1895 Gallery Desk verified

1895 Gallery runs two spaces a few metres apart — 52 Burg Street and 54 Church Street — and shows an intentionally broad range of Southern African work: painting, sculpture and fine art prints in the same programme, rather than a single medium or a single generation. Two rooms let it hang a solo show and a mixed one at the same time, and the corner position at Burg and Church means both sit on the main walking route between the Long Street and Greenmarket Square ends of the gallery district. The gallery opens for First Thursdays, the CBD's late-opening evening on the first Thursday of every month.
